Golf & homes on the Costa del Sol
A morning on the course and an evening on your own terrace. Start with how you want to play and live, not just a home overlooking a fairway. Here are areas to compare and questions to help you choose.
Get personal help choosing an areaChoose a golfing routine, not just a golf view
Would you like to play regularly at one club or explore different courses? That changes which location suits you. Costa del Sol's tourism organisation lists courses in Marbella, Estepona and Mijas, among other areas. A short distance on a map is not enough: compare the route to the clubhouse, shops and restaurants before choosing a home.
- How many rounds per week, and in which months?
- Would you prefer membership, green fees or a mix?
- How important is walking to amenities compared with a course view?
Nueva Andalucía, Mijas or Sotogrande?
Nueva Andalucía is a natural area to compare if you want golf with proximity to Marbella and Puerto Banús. In Mijas, distinguish the village from the coastal golf neighbourhoods. Sotogrande is worth exploring if both golf and a marina appeal. Pick two areas and compare the same housing budget, everyday journeys and club conditions in each.

Check the club before buying
A home beside a course does not automatically include playing rights or membership. Ask the club to confirm admission, fees, booking rules, handicap requirements and guest access in writing. Try the course in the season you plan to live here. Solria connects you with agents; it does not arrange golf memberships.
Budget for the whole lifestyle
Separate the property budget from buying costs, community fees, maintenance, a car and golf. For a course-side property, ask about stray balls, privacy and grounds maintenance schedules. Prices, club fees and availability must be checked individually: a beautiful view is not a guarantee of a particular routine.

- Does buying a home include golf membership?
- Not automatically. Check any playing rights in the purchase documents and confirm the conditions with the club.
- Can I live beside a course without a car?
- It depends on the exact location. Check real walking routes to the clubhouse, shops and restaurants rather than map distances alone.
- Can Solria help me find a home near golf?
- Yes. Tell us your budget, season and playing preferences. We help compare areas and connect you with a local partner agent at no cost to you.
